Supporting Community in Uncertain Times

Updated: Apr 29, 2020

The effects of the Coronavirus pandemic are being felt across the globe, including right here in Vermont. Businesses are closed to in-person transactions, and many are struggling with loss of employment, juggling work and home responsibilities, and dealing with the closure of schools and other vital services. It is such an important time right now to build connections with the people and businesses within our community, to show our support for one another through this difficult and uncertain time, and to strengthen our support for the things that matter to us. It has always been Steadyfoot Farm’s mission to connect people in our community with the food that sustains us, and right now we are truly feeling the importance of this undertaking. Providing nutritious local foods provides fuel and health for your body, soul, and community.

We were, and still are, excited to announce that we plan to vend for the first time at the Hardwick Farmers’ Market this season! While we recognize the importance of a physical market for community building and connecting farmers and consumers, we also recognize the need to adapt to the current situation. The status of farmers’ markets in Vermont is ever changing, and as such, we have decided to launch an online ordering system. This can be used to pre-order greens and other goods leading up to the weekly farmers’ market, starting in mid-May, but it will also act as a portal that you can use for placing orders for deliveries in our local area. We are still working out the kinks, but expect to see the roll-out of our online market soon! If you have questions in the meantime, feel free to contact us.

We are committed to ensuring the safety and quality of the foods that we are providing for sale. We are taking special care with our handling processes to make sure our produce and its packaging are clean and ready for your enjoyment. We thank you for your loyalty as we begin an exciting growing season here at the farm, and we encourage you to sign up for our newsletter.
